The Many Sides of Claire L. Fishback

I’m a human being with very human interests. (which is something a non-human being would say, but here we are… I’ll let you decide what to believe).

Author Coach

If you made it to this page and don’t know I’m an author coach, well, now you know! I love to help writers ditch the rules, fall back in love with writing, and finally finish their damn (good) books. Will you be my next victim… I MEAN CLIENT!!!!

Award-Winning Author

Honorable mention in the Writer’s Digest Short Story competition counts, right? 😅 I have independently published all of my books, three of which have become finalists in local Colorado literary award competitions.

Dog Mom

My beloved pittie mix Kira is the epitome of joy. She reminds me to stop sweating the small stuff, live in the moment, and always always be prepared to eat cookies. Seriously though, my writing life wouldn’t exist without her cuddled on the couch next to me.

Nature Lover

Nature is where I go to heal from the stresses of the day. No matter how tired I am, I know a jaunt through the wilderness with my two besties (my husband and Kira) or a spin on my mountain bike will melt it all away.

Baker

I head into all of my baking adventures the same way I head into a new story idea: with creative abandon and a no-fail mentality (until the cake falls flat… or onto the floor…). I love making (and eating) elaborate cakes! I’m also a Sourdough Maven.

Creative Goblin

I’m all about that creative goblin lifestyle. From writing to sewing, painting, drawing, and music (piano and ukulele), I channel my creative energies in so many different ways! Never too many ways to fill that creative well!

At the beginning of the program, I had the desire to write a book but felt totally inadequate. I figured I would quit without completing much.

Now, I’m so excited — I wrote a book in three months! I’ve accomplished more than I ever expected.

I made so much progress because of one thing — accountability. But overall, it has to be you. If the coach isn’t bubbly, friendly, and fun, it wouldn’t have been the same. Thank you for being you!!!

Brains & Glory Clients

I have made more progress the first month than I had in the last year.

You have helped me learn so much about myself and my writing over the last eight months, and I am so thankful for all your guidance and support.

This is by far the best program I have found for accountability and support.

You are an amazing coach! I always want you in my corner!

Claire is a great coach, and she will absolutely hype you up and get you ready to write!

I loved having someone with knowledge read my writing and give me valuable feedback, as well as someone to talk to about ideas.

Thank you for building me up and giving me the confidence to put myself out there!

Blake E.

Brains & Glory Client

Claire’s feedback was extremely positive, clear, direct, and therefore helpful as well as motivating.

Add to that, she’s blessed with the warmest smile and sense of humor, which she uses to put her student at complete ease. There’s professionalism — because she knows her stuff — but she infuses it with humility, openness, and being real.

I feel more of a sense of purpose and mission, the ultimate motivators I lacked for ten years in getting back into it. Claire’s ability to sincerely exude enthusiasm and intersperse suggestions and ‘what ifs?’ in our conversations was nothing short of a diplomatic talent we could use overseas.

You will get a sense of direction and meaning, along with greater belief in your ability to write. I am so in love with the process of writing again. I’m so happy to say with confidence now: Yes, I’m a writer.

Judalon de Bornay

Author, Great Crossing, Brains & Glory Client

I had begun to doubt my writing and even considered setting this project aside. After working with Claire, I feel renewed enthusiasm for my book and am excited to complete it.

Working with Claire has been tremendously enlightening. Her focused feedback and encouragement made me love this project again. She lifted a blanket from it and allowed me to see it clearly.

Her feedback was insightful, focused, actionable, and encouraging. She identified issues I knew needed work but didn’t know why or how to fix, and explained exactly what to do. I just wish I would have started working with Claire a year ago!

Kristin Homer

Author, A Taste for Fear, Manuscript Review Client

After working with you, I feel inspired, rejuvenated, and ready to tackle my next draft!

It was so helpful having someone in my corner who was just as excited about my story as I was.

Your feedback pointed out things I hadn’t even considered and helped me expand my story and make it the best it could be.

I feel ready to work on my project again!
