Your novel’s structure isn’t what makes it compelling
You don’t need complicated spreadsheets, complex plot points, or extensive beat sheets to write a novel.
You just need a message to share with the world and a soul-festering desire to share that message.
I am here to guide you to write your novel in a way that allows flexibility, freedom, and wonder to be your [familiars/minions/co-pilots/whatever you call them].
Instead of teaching you my way to write a novel, I will guide you toward the excitement and wonder writing is meant to bring you through a series of creativity-igniting exercises to dig deep into the core of your story, help you create a connection with it, and inspire and motivate you to finally reach The End.
Are you ready to find the soul of your story and finally write – and finish – your novel?
MY COACHING STYLE
As a highly sensitive introverted-extrovert with great compassion and empathic qualities, my feedback is straightforward but kind, comical, slightly snarky but with the best intentions! Mostly I’ll ask questions for you to consider in order to guide you to create the best possible story while keeping your vision of your book at the forefront.
One of the most important things to me is that we are both having FUN! I want every interaction to leave you energized, excited, and motivated to get back to work on your book.
I’m certified through Author Accelerator’s Book Coach Certification program in fiction. I bring my knowledge from this course, as well as my experience as a professional and award-winning author to my coaching.
I’ve been where you are and lived to tell the tale (and learned a ton along the way)!
I promise I will…
- See you and acknowledge you as a writer, especially when you are riddled with self-doubt and impostor syndrome.
- Seek to know your story as deeply and as affectionately as you do.
- Tell you the truth about your story in an inspirational and motivating way.
- Not tell you what to write or how to write it. I may offer ideas and what if scenarios, but only after gaining your permission to unleash my wild imagination!
- Balance critique with praise, and always ask questions to help you to better understand your story.
- Always tell you what I love about your work, or tell you if something makes me laugh or cry or get chills. Those are the golden nuggets!
- Get it. I’ve been where you are. I’ve followed all the wrong processes. I’ve abandoned manuscripts. I’ve finished a lot that have never seen the light of day. I have given up (but always came back).
- Bring energy and excitement to every interaction, which will inspire and motivate you to keep going!
- Be your best cheerleader. I’ll believe in you, especially when you don’t believe in yourself or your story.
Our coaching time is a partnership. It is not a dictatorship. We work together to make your book the best damn book it can be. And it will be damn good.
WHO AND WHAT GENRES I WORK WITH
Below is a list of who I prefer to work with:
- Self-published and aspiring self-published writers, preferably female or who identify as female, or any member of the LGBTQIA+ community (You’re safe here, friend).
- Writers who have “tried it all” and still haven’t finished their novels.
- Writers who have a yearning in their soul to write a novel, but don’t know where or how to start.
- Writers who can handle and appreciate energy and enthusiasm about their stories (because, baby, that’s what I bring! I’ll probably be more excited about your story than you are!)
- Writers who are sick of the industry dictating who is “good enough.” YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH. YOU ARE ENOUGH!
I enjoy a broad array of genres with horror (or any genre with horror elements), supernatural or paranormal anything, urban and contemporary fantasy, suspense, and thriller being my favorites.
As long as your story does not contain any of the following elements, we could be a good fit:
- Gratuitous violence or sex
- Graphic rape or child molestation
- Graphic or gratuitous animal abuse – if the dog dies in your story, we’re not the right fit
- Erotica or other weird ass kinky shit
- Extra steamy romance (a little steam is okay)
- Basically things you would feel uncomfortable showing to your grandmother, unless your grandmother is a kinky mutha ‘ucker like you, you little minx
